5 smoothies for healthy weight loss

Smoothies can be part of your strategy for lasting and healthy weight loss. Nutritionists agree that incorporating smoothies into your daily diet plan can help keep hunger levels in check and fill you with muscle building protein.


Detox Smoothie


Gulping a detox smoothie is an easy way of ridding your body off toxins and managing your weight. It can be prepared with a blend of fresh green vegetables and fruits. The typical detox smoothie recipe should be laced with vitamins, fiber and antioxidants. It should also contain large amounts of water, which helps to hydrate your body and boost metabolism.


A great detox smoothie recipe is green leafy vegetable (preferably Spinach), ½ cup of unsweetened almond milk, 1 banana and 1 tablespoon of almond butter.


Vanilla berry smoothie


The vanilla berry smoothie contains protein and 5 grams of fiber, which help keep blood sugar and energy level even. The berries in the smoothie also contain phytochemical C3G, which may help increase the production of chemicals that help to enhance fat metabolism.


The vanilla berry smoothie recipe contains 1 plain non-fat Greek yogurt, 8 ounces of frozen strawberries/blue berries, 2 cups of unsweetened vanilla almond milk, 1 banana and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon. The key is to blend till smooth.


Spicy tropical smoothie


The spicy tropical smoothie acts as a mild metabolism stimulant. It has a diuretic effect which helps the body get rid of retained water. The greens present in the smoothie also contain vitamins and mineral for bodybuilding.


The spicy tropical smoothie recipe covers 1 cup of mango chunks, 1 cup of pineapple chunks, 1 cup of coconut water, 1 cup of spinach, ¼ cup of limejuice and ¼ teaspoon of cayenne pepper (optional).


Peanut – Banana smoothie


The peanut butter and banana smoothie contains 3 grams of fiber and 151mg of sodium. It helps to regulate blood and muscle contractions. The nutrients in the smoothie also help slow the body’s breakdown of carbohydrates and sugar absorption.


The peanut banana smoothie recipe contains ½ cup of fat free milk, ½ cup of plain yogurt, 2 teaspoon of peanut butter, ¼ banana and 1 teaspoon of honey.


Lemon – orange smoothie


The lemon orange smoothie is rich in calcium and sodium. It helps the muscles and nerves function properly. Calcium present is in the smoothie is great for the bones and teeth too.


Great recipe for the lemon – orange smoothie is 1 cup of skim milk, lemon yogurt, 1 peeled orange, handful of ice and 1 tea spoon of flaxseed oil.
